How Long Does It Take To Build Muscle Mass?

Some people just seem to have the right genetics to be able to naturally put on lean muscle mass. Does that sound like you? Don’t despair if it doesn’t, as it’s just about know what your body type is and then working from there.

Endomorph

If you have an endomorph body type, you will have a naturally large frame with a round face, wide hips and shoulders, but also a slow metabolism. You will probably find it quite easy to build up your muscles. The only problem you might find is that they will be hidden under a layer of fat.

So the way an endomorph should go about getting lean muscles, is to first build up the muscles, and then lose the weight. This is why it may take an endomorph a bit longer to get the body they want.

Mesomorph

Remember earlier when I said that some people just seem to be naturally predisposed to having a lean muscular build? Well, that type of person is called a mesomorph. Their genetics naturally predispose them to being more muscular, so it won’t take much time or effort for them to get the body they want.

Ectomorph

Ectomorphs tend to naturally be skinny, have narrow shoulders, and be low in muscle mass. For this reason, they will find it the hardest to put on muscles, or even any kind of weight. However, if this sounds like you, don’t despair. You can put on muscle, it will just take you longer and more effort, that’s all.
